Magnode's Trenton and Indianapolis Operations become QS-9000
certified (December, 1997)
Magnode Corporation continues its long-standing commitment to its customers of
extrusion excellence. Magnode's Trenton, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana operations have
both been awarded the QS-9000 certification. The QS-9000 certification requires the
recipient to adhere to a more stringent set of quality standard guidelines and rules than
the ISO 9002 certification.
Quality Management Institute has certified that the quality management system of
Magnode's Trenton, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana operations meet the quality
standards of ISO 9002:1994; ANSI/ASQC Q9002-1994 with QS-9000 supplement. The
scope of registration covers the processing and distribution of aluminum extruded
shapes and aluminum aerospace, electronic, automotive and highway products, SIC
3334, 3354, 3471, 3499.
It's been a busy year for Magnode's Corporate Director of Quality, Greg
Hinsey. He headed up the difficult task of getting Magnode's Trenton and
Indianapolis operations ISO 9002 certified. Trenton was awarded ISO 9002
certification in April and Indianapolis got ISO 9002 certified in June.
He followed up this success by spearheading the effort to get both operations QS-9000 certified. The Trenton operation was awarded the certification in October and the Indianapolis operation got awarded the certification in November.
Not one to sit on his laurels, Greg already states that QMI has recommended Magnode's
Monroe, Ohio fabrication operation for ISO certification, and that the ISO 9002
certification hopefully will be awarded to this facility very shortly.
Congratulations to Greg and the entire Magnode team for a job well done!
